BMW has opened US ordering for the iX3, the first production model built on its new Neue Klasse electric platform, with deliveries set to begin after a September 25, 2026 launch. The automaker’s US press office confirmed pricing and range figures this week, and BMWBlog independently corroborated the launch timeline and specs in its own coverage.

The 2027 BMW iX3 50 xDrive starts at $61,500 before a $1,350 destination and handling charge, according to BMW’s official announcement. For that price, US buyers get an EPA-estimated 434 miles of range — the longest of any BMW electric model currently sold in the country. The iX3 rides on an 800-volt electrical architecture that BMW says supports up to 400 kW of DC fast-charging, adding an estimated 185 miles in 10 minutes or taking the battery from 10–80% in about 21 minutes.

Inside, the iX3 introduces BMW’s Panoramic iDrive system: a 17.9-inch central touchscreen paired with a projector-style display that spans the base of the windshield from pillar to pillar, replacing the traditional gauge cluster entirely. BMWBlog notes it’s the most significant interior overhaul the brand has made since introducing the original i3 hatchback in 2013.

Neue Klasse is BMW’s biggest EV platform overhaul in over a decade, and the company has said more body styles and sibling models will follow the iX3 over the next two years, gradually replacing the outgoing i3, i4, and i5 lineup that currently anchors BMW’s electric model range. For US shoppers tracking how the segment is shifting, the iX3’s arrival adds a longer-range, faster-charging option to the country’s EV market just as rivals push their own 800-volt platforms to market.

BMW says first customer deliveries will follow the September 25 on-sale date, with the iX3 arriving at US dealerships through the rest of the year.
