The performance CLA is no longer a teaser. Mercedes-AMG’s 27 August media note, carried on the French newsroom as “now available to order,” opened German books for the electric CLA 45 4MATIC+. Overnight, Autocar, What Car, evo, and Electrifying independently put UK orderability on the same car: saloon from £66,750, Shooting Brake from £67,750. GetEVCar already lists the family this car sits on — the CLA 250+ sedan and the Shooting Brake 250+ wagon — so this is a UK price for a performance variant, not a new nameplate on a blank page.
Treat the hardware as Mercedes-AMG’s own table, not a trade-press paraphrase. The July global media pack lists three Yasa axial-flux motors, a peak 500 kW (680 hp), a 94 kWh pack, an 800-volt architecture, and 330 kW DC. Combined WLTP range is given as more than 670 km for the saloon and more than 640 km for the Shooting Brake. The 2.7-second 0–100 km/h figure is footnoted as a 1-foot rollout; Autocar, working from the same briefing, writes 3.0 seconds for the saloon and 3.2 seconds for the estate. Do not collapse those two clocks. The French order note also prices Germany from €82,100 (saloon) and €83,500 (Shooting Brake). Other outlets published lower euro figures that look like a net-of-VAT split; we are not using those as a UK conversion.
The GBP numbers are the story for UK shoppers. Autocar, What Car, evo, and Electrifying all print £66,750 for the Touring Edition saloon and £1,000 more for the Shooting Brake. Electrifying and What Car add Premium Plus from £78,300, with Dynamic Plus (drift / track modes) and the passenger MBUX display in that pack. Autocar says deliveries begin next year. None of those outlets published an AED or USD MSRP, and Mercedes-AMG’s English spec sheet does not either, so the US CLA 250+ row stays a different car at a different price.
Mercedes-Benz on GetEVCar still starts with the everyday CLA, not the Affalterbach car. The live CLA 250+ is listed at 85 kWh, 779 km, 200 kW, and 320 kW DC, with dealer flags in the US and UK. The CLA 350 4MATIC is 85 kWh, 772 km, 260 kW, UK dealer. The Shooting Brake 250+ is 85 kWh, 768 km, 200 kW, UK dealer. Those packs are 9 kWh smaller than the 94 kWh AMG unit, and none of the live pages yet carry a CLA 45 slug, a £66,750 field, or a 500 kW output. The UAE market page has no CLA 250+ dealer row in the current listing; this week’s order note does not add one.
Autocar and evo both name the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N as the closest UK rival, from £65,800. That sedan is already on GetEVCar at 84 kWh, 448 kW, 487 km, and 350 kW DC, with the UK row marked Announced rather than a confirmed dealer count. The regular Ioniq 6 stays the volume Hyundai sedan (UAE, US, and UK dealer). A £66,750 AMG CLA 45 is a pricing argument against that N car, not a rewrite of either spec block.
Two overnight items sit behind this lead. BYD’s 28 August livestream, reported by CnEVPost and Automotive World, marked the 10,000th flash-charging station in Shenzhen — halfway to 20,000 by year-end, 210 million kWh delivered, about a third of users in non-BYD cars. The UK 300-station plan and the Denza Z9 GT 1,500 kW rate were already the 26 August post; this is a China count, not a second UK pricing story. Rivian’s 28 August note re-trims the 2027 R1S and R1T (Premium / Performance / Quad) and puts US configurator prices from $83,990 and $79,990. GetEVCar already lists those nameplates; a US trim refresh does not outrank a UK AMG order book that maps to pages we already have.
What we are not claiming: that GetEVCar now has a CLA 45 model page, that £66,750 is a Mercedes-AMG UK configurator screenshot we have seen, that German €82,100 converts cleanly into that GBP figure, a UAE allocation, a US AMG 45 MSRP, or that the live 85 kWh CLA 250+ range columns should be overwritten with the 94 kWh AMG WLTP band.
