2027 Toyota bZ US Configurator Goes Live as Dealers Prep September Arrivals From $34,980

The 2027 Toyota bZ is now a car you can configure, not a briefing. Toyota’s US product page lists the new model year at a starting MSRP of $34,980, and this week’s trade coverage says the online builder is live — with the first examples expected at dealers in September.

That is a shopping change, not a hardware one. Toyota’s 4 August newsroom said the 2027 bZ “remains unchanged from the prior model year.” Electrek published the same price-and-range ladder the same day. What moved in the last 48 hours is availability: you can spec a 2027 on Toyota.com, and the September arrival window is close enough to matter for anyone still sitting in a 2026.

On GetEVCar, that maps to the Toyota bZ (2026) we already index under the Toyota brand and the US market. The 2026 page is the live directory target until a 2027 row is curated. The 2027 story is a carryover year: same e-TNGA SUV package, same two batteries, same native NACS port.

Confirmed across Toyota’s own site and Electrek: XLE FWD starts at $34,980 before destination. Electrek and EVChargingStations both put the destination charge at $1,595, which is $36,575 at the kerb for the cheapest 2027. Toyota.com highlights an EPA-estimated 314 miles on XLE FWD Plus; Electrek and EVChargingStations independently list 236 miles on the 57.7 kWh XLE FWD and 278–314 miles on the 74.7 kWh cars, depending on wheels and drivetrain.

The year-over-year arithmetic is thinner. Electrek described 2027 pricing as essentially held. EVChargingStations, writing on 19 August after the configurator went live, calculates an $80 sticker increase plus a $145 destination bump — $225 more than a matching 2026. Toyota publishes the $34,980 MSRP, not that delta. Treat the $225 figure as trade-press maths until Toyota spells out 2026-versus-2027 destination fees in one table.

Charging is the other carryover that still matters in the US. Toyota.com, the newsroom, and Electrek all say DC fast charging can take the pack from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes under ideal conditions. The car ships with a native NACS port plus CCS1 and J1772 adapters, so Supercharger access does not depend on a dongle. That is table stakes in 2026, not a 2027 headline — but it is why a hold-the-line refresh can still sell against older CCS-only stock.

Powertrains stay in the same band: Toyota.com and Electrek put FWD models at up to 221 horsepower and AWD at 338 combined, with Toyota quoting 0–60 mph in 4.9 seconds for AWD. XLE and Limited, each with FWD or AWD, remain the grade split. Limited still trades range for 20-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, and extra cabin kit — Electrek lists Limited AWD at $45,380 before destination, which is the expected efficiency penalty, not a new one.

For shoppers already comparing on this site, the bZ is no longer the cheap EV in its class. The Kia EV3 (2025) we cover after last week’s US pricing still undercuts it on sticker, and the Chevrolet Equinox EV (2025) sits in the same mid-$30,000 conversation with a longer EPA number on some trims. The Toyota pitch is dealer coverage, a native NACS port, and the 2026 range bump — not a 2027 spec fight. The platform twin is the Subaru Solterra (2025); if you want the same e-TNGA hardware with a different badge, that page is the other door.

Canada is on sale in parallel, Electrek reports, from CA$45,985 for XLE. GetEVCar’s live markets stay US, UK, and UAE; we are not treating Canadian freight as a UK or UAE price. If you are shopping a 2026 bZ to beat the September 2027 pipeline, confirm local destination fees and remaining 2026 inventory against the $34,980 figure Toyota is printing for 2027 — that MSRP is the one we can dual-source.

Same-week noise we are not turning into a second post: Lucid held 2027 Air stickers flat (Electrek, 19 August) after last week’s Gravity GT-S story, and Buick launched the Electra L7 BEV in China. Neither moves a GetEVCar model page the way a US bZ configurator does. The useful next step on this site is still the 2026 bZ spec sheet until Data Curator lands a 2027 row.
